Working to Build Healthy Communities and Drug-Free Youth
Coalitions channel community concerns into
programs that rely on active citizen participation,
connecting people to each other and to their
communities.  These efforts can generate enormous
human energy, even against seemingly intractable
problems like substance abuse.

Partnerships among businesses, community groups,
government agencies, non-profits and associations are
critical to the success of anti-drug efforts in any
community.
Prevention Partners coalition consists of parents, schools, youth, faith leaders, leaders
working  together to reduce risks and increase assets by implementing
research-based, community wide prevention initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles.

Awareness - disseminating information about alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues.

Community Based Process– bringing people together to collaborate solutions to community

Environmental– providing strategies that help promote a healthy community norm.
Alternatives– identifying opportunities that provide a “natural high”for youth and aid families.
