Keeping Alcohol Out of the Hands of Underage Youth

Prevention Partners works with Northern Wood County Law Enforcement and the Ohio Investigative Unit to keep alcohol out of the hands of underage youth through Compliance Checks and Seller/Server trainings.

Compliance Checks

An environmental approach that reduces youth access to alcohol in Northern Wood County

Prevention Partners provides funding for compliance checks to the following precincts through the Parents Who Host Lose the Most grant:

  • Perrysburg
  • Perrysburg Township
  • Rossford
  • Northwood
  • Lake
  • Unincorporated areas N.582 (Wood County Sheriff's Dept)

Since 2005 we have increased compliance from 72% to 92% in 2010.  Those establishments that pass are awarded a decal to post so the community can see they are working to reduce youth access to alcohol.

Seller/Server Trainings

Prevention Partners works in conjunction with the Ohio Investigative Unit, who provides education/skills training for liquor permit holders and their employees to help prevent alcohol sales to minors through the A.S.K. Training (Alcohol Server Knowledge).

Upcoming Trainings in 2011:

  • Wednesday, April 20    9-10:30am
  • Wednesday, May 11      1-2:30pm
